Licensing

Licensing in plain words

A licence is what you are actually buying. This page explains what one covers, so that you can read a quote and a contract with confidence.

Territory
The countries or regions where the advertisement may run. A licence for Mexico does not cover the United States unless it says so.
Media
Where the advertisement appears: television, social platforms, your website, in-store screens, paid or organic. What is not named is not included.
Term
How long you may use the footage, counted from the first publication date. Longer use is renewed and priced separately.
Usage
What you may do with the material: the full advertisement, shorter cut-downs, still images, edits, translations.
Exclusivity
Whether the person may appear for competing products during the term. Exclusivity is a separate item and is priced as one. Some television personalities are also bound to a network, so we ask early.
Approvals
Who signs off on scripts, edits and the final cut, and how quickly. Clear approval steps prevent delays and disputes.
Image rights
You own your footage. The person keeps control of their likeness, which is licensed to you for the job. Artificial recreation of a person's image or voice needs specific, written consent and is excluded from our standard quote.
TERM
Each licence is drafted with Mexican counsel. Contracts and fees are discussed per project. This page explains how licences usually work and is not legal advice; your own counsel should review the contract you sign.

Our fee

Our fee is shown as its own line on every quotation, apart from the talent's fee. Trusted Faces Agency is a partner company of Rutanamex; any fee or markup is disclosed in writing before you sign.
